I recently bought an iPhone 3GS in Greenhills and they said it was factory unlocked.

Is there a difference between a factory unlocked unit and a jailbroken unit?

My unit has cydia installed.

Hi. Malaki po ba yung box? And pacheck po sa cydia kung may nakainstall na ultrasn0w sa packages.

get a refund, better get a prepaid one from globe than buying from them.. (just my opinion)
if you want to stick with it,
do bear in mind na wag basta basta magUupgrade if Apple issue a new Firmware,
just consult applei.ph if it is safe to upgrade or not

btw, how much does it cot?

if its a factory unlocked iphone, you wouldnt have to worry / wait for the Dev Team to come out with an unlocking tool, you can just go ahead and update your phone and use any Sim you prefer.

Like what exploit suggested, go to Cydia and check if Ultrasnow (or Purple Rain) is installed.
If it is, theres a big chance that your phone is not factory unlocked.

open Cydia
go to Manage
then on Packages
search for Ultrasnow or Purple Rain

But I can use this phone like any other iphone right? Except i have to watch out when upgrading?
