SmartPhone Medic has posted some pictures (below) of what they are claiming to be the frame of the rumored Verizon iPhone 4 or of the fifth generation iPhone. The difference between this purported frame and the current iPhone 4 frame is the top cut in the band is missing and a new cut is present towards the top-side of the phone. The controversial cut on the iPhone 4 is still present but they may be moving that function to the new band on the upper side to avoid people causing reception issues while holding their iPhone. Above is a video from another repair shop of a hands on of the frame and internal parts.



I, for one, am pretty much convinced. All the changes targeted the "antennagate" problem.

It may seem early for possible iPhone 5 part leaks, but repair firm iResQ got hold of the iPhone 4's front faceplate as early as February of 2010. The similarities between this new case and the iPhone 4 case also gel with what I've suspected, that the iPhone 5 will most likely be a 3GS-style mini-update of the iPhone 4 rather than a major design shift. GlobalDirectParts claims to have details on this supposedly new iPhone's display and motherboard, too, and will be showing those off next week.

A firm named GlobalDirectParts has put together a fairly extensive, five-plus minute video showcasing what they claim to be parts from Apple’s next generation iPhone (referred to as the iPhone 5 in the video). We get a crystal clear look at the charging-port flex-cable and outer aluminum skeleton of the device. There are several key differences between the iPhone 4 parts and the new parts we are being shown — displayed side by side in the video — including the absence of several of the black, plastic strips on the casing. This new iPhone shell still has a micro-SIM card slot, which could mean several things: it belongs to a global CDMA iPhone, it is a slight retooling of the current GSM iPhone 4 (iPhone 4GS anyone?), or… it’s just a fake (that’s still an option too). At the beginning of the video, around 0:23, the company appears to have a fully assembled version of the device and leaves us with the following taunt: “more coming next week.” While this video is from an unverified entity, it looks legitimate enough to warrant mention. I hope other than the white color and this antenna improvement, there will be more new features on the next iPhone. Otherwise, there isn't anything to wait for.

I would guess additional speed and/or storage space are/is in the offing too.
