It can run the medical applications I need in medschool,and if medical eBooks will be released why not...I'll probably get the low-end one...

I have a unibody and a 3GS.

But yes, I will get one once the 3G and Wifi version comes out. I need something to bridge the gap between these two devices. And the iPad fits this niche nicely.

i will get one when if i can install adobe PS, or coreldraw..it is just a bigger version of itouch..

i Will definitely buy an iPad when it comes out, But the question going in my mind is..do i have to turn it off everytime after using it? because i owned an iPodtouch i never turn that thing off. hehehe, just wonderin.

You can install Brushes, Sketchbook Mobile, or Layers to compensate for a basic mobile solution.

I believe it works just like an iphone/ipod touch since it uses an iphone-derived OS. It needs a reboot every once in a while, but not each time you use it. Steve even boasted how long the standby time is.

While it may appear like it is a bigger version of the iPod Touch because it runs current iPhone apps out of the box, the new OS and SDK will definitely spell a big difference in the way developers will be porting their apps. Bigger real estate in terms of screen space, means more room to put in more functionality.. As for multitaksing, that is something we have to see when the final product ships out in March.

As stated here and in other discussion boards, the iPad was not intended for hard-core geeks and for long-haul, heavy duty work. It was designed for people who who just want to surf the net, share photos, listen to music, with a simple, intuitive, easy to use device. (haven't you seen the video yet?)

Do you think you would be able to work heavy graphics and photo editing on that iPad screen? My son, who is a graphics artist, has a 17" MBP for that. That is why there is the MacBook Pro and that is what it is for

Me? I am getting one because of its sheer simplicity, intuitiveness and functionality, and because I want to introduce my wife to my world, the tech world
