my base band is 5.11.07 i got this firmware for 3gs too, iPhone2,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw ? i just want to upgrade, jail break and unlock it sana..

you cant update to 3.1.3 anymore since apple stopped signing of any firmware less than 4.0, only way is to upgrade to 4.0.

But the best way to update to 4.0 is thru 4.0 CFW created by sn0wbreeze or pwnagetool. But before doing anything make sure you have read satisfy the requirements in order to use a 4. CFW. For more details check Firmware 4.x thread in the forums

Thanks for the info sir kikz. That is why when I was upgrading a friend's iPhone to 3.1.3 (from 3.0.1), it couldn't go pass "Preparing the iPhone for restoration!" message. However, I had an old downloaded 3.1.2 (iPhone1,2,3.1.2_7D11_Restore) firmware and that worked.

RRM just to make it clear, my post above is valid only for iphone 3gs, for iphone 2g and 3g you can still restore to any firmware.

Got it sir kikz. It was an iPhone 3G. My bad. However, I wasn't able to restore to 3.1.3 using the CFW's posted here. Bakit kaya?

Bakit kaya? try doing it again but this time try to put device on DFU mode first and then do the shift+restore, CFWs will only work if device is currently pawned/jailbroken (prior to shift+restore) or else restoring to a CFW will result in error 160x

Mga sirs i have a similar problem.
I have a iphone 3GS 32gb with software version 3.1.2, firmware 05.11.07 new bootrom
US model, AT&T
Jailbroken via blackrain and unlocked na.

I wanna upgrade to software version 3.1.3 or 4.0.1
How do i do it? The phone always goes to USB mode if i turn it off (tethered) and
i don't have the original AT&T sim for activation.

Can i use any AT&T sim? would the One sim work to activate the unit?

Open Cydia, check main page and look for something like this

"This device has SHSH on file for iPhone OS/iOS ......"

Check what SHSHs had been saved, you can restore to its corresponding firmware. Read posts above for more info.

In case you managed to save SHSH file, Before doing the shifT+restore, DO THIS

MAke sure you have the ATT sim or one sim to activate device
