Free Push Fix for hacktivated iPhone’s is here!

Push Doctor

Thanks to the work of the iPhone DevTeam, with their original “by hand” method of fixing push, they have paved the way for a more automated process.
#iphone IRC commoner anethema has setup a way to fix push via Cydia which gives you GENUINE activation certificates, and they are ALWAYS unique. You will never share acivation certs with another iPhone user. The best part? Unlike www.pushfix.info/ which charges it’s userbase a fee for them to get their push working, anethema’s solution is 100% FREE.
You can find Push Doctor on NERV Repository. Add the repo URL on my homepage or on this blog under “Tweaks” to Cydia’s sources to get the fix.
If you’ve legit activated, you do not need this but even if you install it you wont have an issue.
Here is a writeup by anethema about Push Doctor: www.cmdshft.ipwn.me/pushfix/
NOTE: This is NOT an application you run from SpringBoard or command line. It does all the work immediately while Cydia runs. If you install this to fix push, and you decide to uninstall the package it will not remove the push fix. Reinstalling will delete your “old” certs and install new ones. You will not notice any difference, however.

Here's some additional info (coming from the link on Redalpha's post so you guys don't need to jump to it):

Push Doctor

History:

When the dev team released the jailbreak oh so long ago, it quickly came to attention that users on non 'legit' carriers could not see any push notifications from any of their push enabled apps.

Some very smart people in the dev team began looking at the problem and the results were nimble, which extracted whatever cert's you may have, and inject, which injected certs into your keychain.

In preliminary testing it was found however that re-using my certs over and over again resulted in a massive amount of push's going to the wrong phone. There was no real solution to this, it was simply suggested you try to get some certs from your friend's phone or another source. Until now.

The fix:

I've found a way to generate these en-masse to supply a proper fix for all you hacktivators out there. Installing the app will simply download and inject unique certs into your phone's keychain. This is still using the dev-team's inject and nimble and a ton of this credit should be going to them. Speaking of which..

Installation instructions:
Simply add: cmdshft.ipwn.me/apt/ to your cydia sources. The fix is called "Push Doctor". Install that and you're good to go.

Thanks:

I was not the first to come up with this idea, four industrious hackers, Aviegas, Volkspost, Olethros and dtube, had made inroads into cert generation, and their groundwork allowed me to get anywhere near as far as I did. dtube expecially brought this to my attention and was a big help through the entire process.

The iphone dev-team and CPICH in particular (and planetbeing who wrote a lot of the code, we miss you man) made the tools nimble and inject, and all of that code is WAY above my head. Safe to say this would not have happened without them. Nimble and inject are really the core of and a huge part of this, I can't state this enough. CPICH gave me permission to distribute this app freely as long as my 'app' itself was free, which it always will be. I'll pass the torch before I'll charge a dime.

geohot helped me get over a stumbling block that was a huge stoppper in the automation of cert generation, big thanks to him too.

Thanks EvilPenguin| who helped me learn about packaging, and _BigBoss_ who showed me the proper way to do some stuff too.

Thanks also to cmdshft, who is hosting the app on his repo, and the text you're reading now.

Thanks as well to sjohnson, a talented PHP writer who is always willing to help.

While this app comes without support, if you have problems join #pushfix on chat.osx86.hu and I may be able to help you if I am around.

Just edited the title to add the package name and the momentous fact that this push fix method is 100% approved and endorsed by the iphone dev team (by Musclenerd via twitter). A real push fix that is rightfully free for everyone to enjoy.

Important notes from the dev's blog are quoted below. It basically discusses the unfortunate current situation wherein there are a limited number of certificates available to do the Push Doctor fix. It also discusses what to do in case you encounter such a setback.

Source: cmdshft blog
NOTE: This is NOT an application you run from SpringBoard or command line. It does all the work immediately while Cydia runs. If you install this to fix push, and you decide to uninstall the package it will not remove the push fix. Reinstalling will delete your “old” certs and install new ones. You will not notice any difference, however.

NOTE: If you’re having an issue with installing Push Doctor and you cannot get push working, it’s because the server it’s getting your unique cert from is actually out of certs. The demand is very high apparently, and @anethema is now generating 1 unique cert per minute to put on the server. Try every few hours, eventually it will work. Any errors just means the same that it cannot find a unique cert. Just “reinstall” the package later or the next day.

If you need support, join #pushfix on chat.osx86.hu

===================================

How Do I Get Push Fix? :
1. To get push fix navigate to Cydia and add the source: www.cmdshft.ipwn.me/apt/

2. To download the app go to Cydia search and type in Push Doctor, it should look like this

3. There are a very limited amount of certificates available for download at the moment, to see if there are currently any for download go to www.cmdshft.ipwn.me/blog/ on your computer and look for a counter on the right, it should look like this: screencast.com/t/ZjRhOTJjYzM , If there are some left go ahead and download Push Doctor, if there aren’t left, don’t bother as you will not get a certificate

4. If you try and download Push Doctor and there are no certificated available, you will get an error and Cydia will ask to keep the half-installed package or forcibly clear it. The safest way to go it to forcibly clear it as it prevents future conflictions when trying to re-download Push Doctor

5. The last part is if you successfully downloaded Push Doctor, navigate to the AppStore and download iPusher, itunes.apple.com/us/app/ipusher/id348540958?mt=8 , it will test to see if your push is functioning correctly: screencast.com/t/Mjk2ZjBjODI

6. If youtube is not working, try a reboot. If that doesn't fix it, then it's an issue with the certs and youtube in very specific countries. There are 3 packages on NERV Repo for Youtube, try them ONE AT A TIME. If one does not work, uninstall and try the next one.

My YouTube now works after reinstalling Push Doctor!!! Yay!

For those who are still unsuccessful, just try reinstalling because some certs that are issued don't work. Just keep on trying until you get the right one. I'm lucky I got one today.

Good luck and just be patient.

Just a reminder to everyone installing Push Doctor: Always check this site first before proceeding with the installation. Make sure to check the "Push Doctor Certificate Statistics" and see if there are any available.

To reiterate:

"NOTE: If you’re having an issue with installing Push Doctor and you cannot get push working, it’s because the server it’s getting your unique cert from is actually out of certs.
