iNoRotate app for the iPhone and iPod Touch disables your rotation ability when enabled.
You can choose from: All Applications, SMS App, Mail App, Notes App, Safari App, and Contacts app.

The concept isn't exactly new. 11 months ago, an SBSettings toggle called Rotation Inhibitor was introduced to the ispazio repo. Although this new program does take the right step forward I guess by offering a per application toggle (although as stated it only covers only the standard built in apps for now).

This could potentially be useful to the reader/browsing apps that don't show the statusbar and also do not offer a no-rotation toggle. Although Rotation Inhibitor is written by the awesome dev Ryan Petrich. Hmmm... this now made it hard to choose which one is better. Maybe it would be better to simply put it alongside RI on our recommended Cydia install list.

Rotation Inhibitor still gets my vote. Having the toggle really helps.

Rotation inhibitor for me as well. Although I havent tried this one. The SBSettings toggle is really convenient.
