heya shooter,

insomnia's current build works very well on fw2.2 and i use it every single day. in fact, all the apps i listed work perfectly under fw2.2. i just put notes if it's not needed for fw2.2 like ctoggle which isn't needed anymore since apple included the autocorrect toggle.

about the Cydia update, please do update them. Cydia will never implement an update as "essential" if it really does not need it. Saurik, the cydia author, is 100% reliable; bar none. all the default cydia sources are registered to his repo server list and he checks each one before releasing it. i believe the essential update you have right now are for OpenSSH and OpenSSL. these are packaged by Saurik himself and the update is indeed very important. you mentioned your unit running fine, updating these would make it run perfect!

unfortunately there is no cydia app that does that. but you can first group them on your pc or mac then sync your iphone afterwards.

i'm aware of a couple of Appstore apps that can do groups though, they're:

free:
iGroup

paid:
Contact Grouper
Contact Tool
ABContacts lite
Speed Name

thanks for the compliment. i did not include Categories (just like the Five Icon Dock app) even though i agree that it is very useful due to the fact that some people appear to get confused when using it. this deals primarily with "missing" apps:
- if you restore your iphone and then restore to your iphone backup without installing Categories, people get surprised that their synced apps don't appear on the springboard but they are in just hidden. restoring to an iphone backup also reinstalls the edited sprinboard plist.
- some people who used Categories tend to install more apps than the 148 apps springboard limit. after a restore, a lot of people wonder why their apps (over the limit) won't appear/sync to the iphone.
- apps that were inside a category folder that was then uninstalled w/out removing from categories face the same scenario.
- some people forget to delete the categories created before a restore.
- some people accidentally delete the categories w/out taking out the apps inside.

these are just a few instances of what may happen while using Categories that i can remember off the top of my head. since the Cydia app list is targeted primarily for the newer users, including Categories (and the Five Icon Dock) app tend to complicate things a bit. this app needs a few moments of research before 1st time use.
