Before you can use this mod on 3g or edge you need to trick FaceTime that you are connected to wifi even though you are not, you can use either of the tweaks e.g 3g unrestrictor, My3g or FaceBreak. Bare in mind, as the description says, both iPhones should have this mod installed for it to take effect.
