Globe: Iphone Plan Question 1 Month, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hey guys I'm new here and I'm glad i've found a filipino Iphone coomunity. Have just passed the board exam for nurses (narelease lang kagabi) and planning to apply one of globe's postpaid plans for an iphone 3gs (1599 a month) which comes with 100 minutes free calls, 350 sms messages. I seldomly call at mejo tamad din ako magtext pag minsan so this is definitely the plan for me.

The handset should cost me an additional 12,850 php according globe's website for plan 1599.

Question:
1. Ok lang ba ito, is it worth it?
2. Kailangan bang bayaran agad ung handset upon application or pwedeng hulugan through the months?
3. Should i go for the iphone 3gs (12,850) or the 3g (7,200)?
4. Ano ang lock time period nito?

Thank you...

Bale pag kinompute mo for 2 years: 51226.00php without any additional charges from texts or calls or any other service. In comparison to the 38000php retail price for a prepaid kit. Seems practical to me kasi on plan for 2 years eh. Tanong lang about sa credit card, wala na bang ibang paraan, like monthly payment na hindi credit card - meaning ung pupunta sa globe center para magbayad, ganun?

Thanks for your reply iho, i really appreciate it.

Wow Congrats your 1 of the few that passed the nursing board exam!
Regarding your query,
1. Worth it.
2. Yes you need to pay right away 12,850 + 1 month advance (1599)
3. go for the latest
4. lock time is 2 long years LOL

Zeldascorn, do take into consideration that getting a Globe unit also means that the iphone is a locked unit. Unlike other European countries, Philippine carriers do not unlock iphones after the 2-year lock period. But if you're planning on sticking with Globe after your lock-in period, I guess that wouldn't be a problem anyway.

Like what Apple did with the 1st gen iphone, there is a large probabilility that the iphone 3G will be phased out soon - i.e. discontinued support for newer features added to new firmware releases - once the rumored 4th gen iphone (keeping fingers crossed) comes out later this year. If you need to get it right now right now, getting a 3GS would be a better choice to be more current with Apple's product line and their future firmware support plans.

However, if you're a simple user who doesn't really need to be updated with each new firmware, an iphone 3G would be a more economical/practical choice though. So it really depends on what kind of user you are.

Thank you all for your replies. I'm a power user on a PC so I would go with a 3GS then, faster processor, more features, and also video recording.

I would still be using globe as my operator after the lock time period so that shouldn't be a problem. But is getting a plan better than getting a prepaid kit? The prices and everything. Thank you

if you can afford then go for the postpaid plan. if i were you choose the consumable plans like gflex 800 or 1200. im on plan 800, perfect for calling, texting and surfing the net on an iphone.
