Comex has officially released the iPad 2 jailbreak for iOS 4.3.3.

The jailbreak uses a PDF exploit similar to JailbreakMe and does not require your device to be connected to the computer.

To jailbreak, navigate to www.jailbreakme.com on your iOS device after updating to iOS 4.3.3. We will be posting detailed instructions walking you through the process very shortly. You can follow us on Twitter and Facebook using the links at the bottom of the page for more updates.

A big thanks goes to Comex for his hard work in making this jailbreak possible.

Update:
There are a few bugs getting the site live...
MuscleNerd: "----> everyone look over here while some things get fixed

Supported devices with the corresponding firmware on jbme 3.0's initial release:
•iPad1: 4.3 through 4.3.3
•iPad2: 4.3.3
•iPhone3GS: 4.3 through 4.3.3
•iPhone4: 4.3 through 4.3.3
•iPhone4-CDMA: 4.2.6 through 4.2.8
•iPod touch 3g: 4.3, 4.3.2, 4.3.3
•iPod touch 4g: 4.3 through 4.3.3

WARNING! JailbreakMe 3.0 CANNOT HACTIVATE! Since this is a browser based jailbreak, your unit needs to be in activated state.

WARNING WARNING! JailbreakMe 3.0 is only for those with factory unlocked units or carrier locked but using same carrier sim as unit is locked to. If you have a carrier locked unit and rely on ultrasn0w unlock, JailbreakMe 3.0 is NOT for you! Use CFW instead or redsn0w so you can hactivate!

JailbreakMe 3.0 is untethered on all supported devices!

***********Here is a straight forward tutorial by jjb************

1. Make sure your device is running FW 4.3.3
(If you're already running FW 4.3.3 - proceed to step 4)

You can download the OFW files here and Save it in your Desktop:
For the iPad 1 and 2 Click here.
For the iPhone 4 and 3GS here.
For the iPod Touch 3rd and 4th Gen here.

2. Launch iTunes, Plug your Device, Select your Device in the left hand side of iTunes,
Then for Windows Users, hold down the SHIFT key and Click Restore.
(for Mac Users, hold down the OPTION key and Click Restore)
A window will launch and just select the file that you just downloaded in step 1.

3. Wait for your Device to update to 4.3.3
(Normally. this would take around 10 mins)
While waiting, head on over to the Live Chat and Say Hi!

After restore is done, activate device using any sim if unit is factory unlocked. Activate using carrier sim of the carrier where unit is locked to if device if carrier locked. JailbreakMe 3.0 CANNOT hactivate!

After activation, opt to set up as new phone or restore from back up.

4. Once done, connect your device to a good WiFi connection or a good 3G connection.
(But we suggest a really good WiFi Connection.)

5. Launch the SAFARI app in your device and go to :
www.jailbreakme.com and just tap on FREE then INSTALL.

(this would take around 2 mins)
While waiting, head on over to the Live Chat and Say Hi! again

6. You're done.
You should now see the CYDIA app in your device.
Enjoy!

Edit :
Additional Tips from Justinred.
Thanks Justin!

justinred wrote:
If you are getting a "Device Not Recognized" error, clear safari history & cache and go directly to the specific PDF for your device.

example:

For iPhone 4 (4.3.3), www.jailbreakme.com/saffron/_/iPhone_4.3.3_8J2.pdf

For iPhone 4 (4.3.2), www.jailbreakme.com/saffron/_/iPhone_4.3.2_8H7.pdf

For iPad 2 (4.3.3), www.jailbreakme.com/saffron/_/iPad_4.3.3_8J2.pdf

For iPad 1 (4.3.3), www.jailbreakme.com/saffron/_/iPad_4.3.3_8J3.pdf

and so on just replace your firmware version and build iPhone_X.X.X_XXX.pdf

you can see your firmware and build in settings/general/about/version on your device.

For invalid checksum error, Jailbreakme.com is under extremely heavy load, try again later.

If Cydia disappeared while installing, backup your device via iTunes, restore to 4.3.3, and rejailbreak.

There is a known issue with the Camera Connection Kit and Jailbreakme 3.0. - fixed via cydia essential update 7/12/11

Jailbreakme users also report that BiteSMS causes a boot loop. If you really need bitesms, restore and jailbreak with redsn0w instead.- fixed via cydia essential update 7/12/11

More Information:
What's a jailbreak?

Jailbreaking your device means installing a small program that removes restrictions in the default software. A jailbroken device can run apps and extensions (themes and tweaks) not approved by Apple. Jailbreaking does not slow down your device or use extra battery, and you can still use all your existing apps and buy new ones from the App Store. Jailbreaking simply enables you to do more with your device, nothing is taken away.

Is JailbreakMe reversible?

Yes! If you ever decide that you want to undo your jailbreak, connect your device to your computer, sync to make a full backup, press Restore in iTunes to wipe the device, and load your backup when prompted. All your App Store apps and the information in them will be preserved as usual.

Can jailbreaking "brick" my device?

JailbreakMe provides a safe jailbreak that cannot put your device into an unusable state on its own. You will have full access to your jailbroken device, which gives you the power to modify it in ways that can put it in a state where you have to connect your device to iTunes and "restore" from a recently-synced backup. However, it should not be possible to render your device as permanently non-interactive as a brick, no matter what you choose to install.

Is this legal in the United States?

The Library of Congress approved a DMCA exemption in 2010 for jailbreaking cell phones, including the iPhone.

Can jailbreaking make my device less secure?
By itself, jailbreaking does not make you vulnerable.

However, a common mistake for jailbreakers is to install OpenSSH but forget to change the passwords for root and mobile; this lets anyone log into your device over the Internet. If you install OpenSSH, remember to change the password!

How can I get help with jailbreaking?

If you need technical help with jailbreaking, you can try websites like Jailbreak QA and /r/jailbreak.

Isn't there a risk hackers will make the exploit from this site into an iPhone virus?
When I released JailbreakMe 2.0 last year, some media reports focused on the security implications of releasing an exploit for unpatched vulnerabilities. I am not sure myself what to think of this, but here are some facts:

▻ I did not create the vulnerabilities, only discover them. Releasing an exploit demonstrates the flaw, making it easier for others to use it for malice, but they have long been present and exploitable. Although releasing a jailbreak is certainly not the usual way to report a vulnerability, it still has the effect of making iOS more secure in the long run.

▻ There's always a first time, but I think there's a good chance the security impact of these vulnerabilities will remain theoretical. Despite JailbreakMe 2.0 being open sourced after an updated version of iOS was released, which would have made it relatively easy to modify the code into an attack, I didn't hear about any such modification except a proof of concept that showed up much later. The only iPhone virus ever to attack the general public was a trivial one that affected jailbreakers who installed OpenSSH (not installed by default) but left it at the default password.

▻ Along with the jailbreak, I am releasing a patch for the main vulnerability which anyone especially security conscious can install to render themselves immune; due to the nature of iOS, this patch can only be installed on a jailbroken device. Until Apple releases an update, jailbreaking will ironically be the best way to remain secure.

▻ Jailbreak apps and tweaks improve the mobile experience of millions of users, including many who were encourged to try it by the ease of use of web-based jailbreaks. I'm not just doing this to be flashy: there is considerable benefit to writing this kind of tool rather than one that requires a connected computer.

jailbreakme times 3

Once again, @comex has resurrected www.jailbreakme.com for your jailbreaking ease and pleasure!

@comex developed what is now the third installment (and his second) of jailbreakme.com, the easiest way to jailbreak your iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad (including the iPad2!). No computer is necessary for jbme3.0…just browse to www.jailbreakme.com on your device and install it from there!

While @comex and others have worked hard to make this as simple as possible, some people may have questions and problems may arise. Rather than inundate comex with any questions over twitter, please consider using either our comments section below, or visit jbqa.me

Also, please read “More Information” towards the bottom of www.jailbreakme.com for some basic background information. Here are some additional Q&As beyond that:

Q: Which devices and firmware versions are supported?
A: In this initial release, the following configurations are supported:
•iPad1: 4.3 through 4.3.3
•iPad2: 4.3.3
•iPhone3GS: 4.3 through 4.3.3
•iPhone4: 4.3 through 4.3.3
•iPhone4-CDMA: 4.2.6 through 4.2.8
•iPod touch 3g: 4.3, 4.3.2, 4.3.3
•iPod touch 4g: 4.3 through 4.3.3

Q: How does jbme3.0 differ from the existing jailbreaks?
A: jbme3.0 is entirely userland-based, from start to finish. The A5 chip in the iPad2 has no iBoot or bootrom-level exploits yet, so tools like redsn0w, PwnageTool and sn0wbreeze can’t use the limera1n bootrom exploit to inject the jailbreak. Even for those devices where limera1n works, jbme3.0 injects the jailbreak with a userland exploit.

Q: If I’m already jailbroken on the latest firmware, is there any advantage to jailbreaking again?
A: No, but you should consider showing this to your friends! Spread the jailbreaking fever.

Q: Are the holes exploited by jbme3.0 closed in iOS5?
A: The holes still exist in the iOS5 betas, but they’ll almost certainly be fixed by the time iOS5 is public. However because the iPad2 had no public jailbreak yet, it probably wasn’t worth waiting until the fall to use them. If history repeats itself though, there will be more holes and exploits.

Q: Will I permanently lose the jailbreak if I need to restore my device?
A: For all except the iPad2, saving your SHSH blobs should let you always restore your device to iOS versions where this jailbreak works. The iPad2 is a little more complicated. If you have a wifi-only iPad2 and saved SHSH blobs, you’re in good shape. But if you have the GSM or CDMA iPad2, you won’t be able to restore to 4.3.3 or lower once Apple stops signing its baseband. There are a few ideas that might work to get around this limitation, but for now it’s best to assume there’s no going back to 4.3.3 once 4.3.4 is out for iPad2 GSM or CDMA owners.

Q: I heard this new unionfs stuff is dangerous?
A: Define dangerous Seriously though, although unionfs is a huge improvement to the install time of the jailbreak, it is brand new code and there is the possibility something will go wrong. Just keep regular backups of your media and content and you should be fine. If there are any problems, they should appear within the first few days, so hold off and let “everyone else” test the waters if you’d like.
