Ever since the Iphone made its debut and changed the smartphone landscape forever, the race has been on between the remaining handset makers (Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Palm, etc.) on who could produce a legitimate "Iphone Killer" <-- if i hear this term ONE more time, i'm going to puke! LOL.

Brand new models came and went, all falling short of that coveted claim to fame that they have toppled the new smartphone king. Google's Nexus One is probably the closest contender, despite their current customer service woes... see: www.nytimes.com/2010/01/13/technology/companies/13google.html

Although I still don't think Microsoft "gets it" in the sense that they have been trying inundate us with a lot of mediocre phones with a "just ok" OS (contrasted with Apple's "one great phone one great OS" goal), after seeing the promo videos, it looks like they're finally heading in the right direction, albeit a few years late (that's in dog years for this business). iphone parin ako....daming apps daming pwede gawin sa phone at maraming support community like applei...

In my opinion, i still prefer the iphone over the newly-released versions by other companies as the applications can still crash... unlike the iphone w/c has been around for a considerable time and still in demand. If i do have the funds,maybe ill get this as my 2nd phone.

Sorry to say, been an WinMo user for 4 years and nothing much has improved. OS is useless without proper third party software to back it up.

So many versions of the OS has come out and I always see SPB coming out on top for customization. Brewed ROMs are the things keeping this alive at most.

true. ive been using windows mobile ever since it started. hand me down gadgets from my dad. haha! been a palm user din. they say the new windows mobile 7 is going to be as fluid as the iphone. it will have its cons and pros. similar to ours. depending on whos using it, of course. in the end, i just want a phone, help me organize my life and be entertained. my iphone does that.

if Microsoft can find the right hardware match for their new mobile OS, i'm definitely sure i found my blackberry replacement

Being a former knee-deep WinMo user prior to the iphone's debut, Win Phone 7's press release is definitely a breath of fresh air for their side. The next few months will tell if they will be as strong as the iphone, or the next palm pre wherein there was a strong initial marketing yet immensely poor follow through + customer/dev support.

This being a complete rewrite of the Windows Phone OS, too bad for winmo 6.5.x and lower. Microsoft just killed their own "legacy" (if you could call it that) since legacy apps are not supported.
