I'm sure it existed long before Apple even considered putting up the Philippine Appstore (and thus using that so unique icon).

It's really just absurd that iManila passed a few times already and then suddenly get snagged on this "technicality". It indicates that the Appstore approval process still needs some improving.

I dig the red icon too. good job radioone.

As for that Jeepney icon, ugh. And the misspelling of Manila bothers me more than the icon.

How bout the icon of Jose Rizal in Luneta park. since this app is iManila not iPhilippines. We can take some pictures of it.

Wow, these are great! I think the red one is my favorite.
I may have a requirement to update the icon as a result of working with the data provider for the application. If not, maybe this can be the new icon

If you want you could look for him/her... But will he/she be willing to sue Apple? Nobody said that Apple is suing somebody for the copyright of the ICON LOGO. Apple could reject whatever apps they choose to reject if it conflicts with their interest. They own the App Store. If you don't agree and have grounds against Apple then you could sue Apple if you want.

The real issue here is that Apple is somewhat claiming copyrights to our flag. No more no less.

No. as elmerlu has pointed out, Apple is NOT claiming copyright to the Philippine flag. what Apple is claiming copyright to is an ICON that happens to include parts of or at the very least RESEMBLE the Philippine flag. There's a big difference between the two. The icon itself IS NOT the Philippine flag!

That's why i said somewhat not indeed or some other word.
