SOURCE: www.iclarified.com Apple will release iOS 4.1 on September 8th according to a message on their UK website. iOS 4.1 brings fixes for iPhone 4 proximity issues, Bluetooth problems and iPhone 3G performance. Also new is HDR photos and Game Center.

If I remember correctly, it's via bluetooth since I don't use the wired connection.

EDIT: I remember now. In my old MTECH head unit, forward and back didn't work, while play/pause and mute worked. When I changed my head unit to AVT, I was surprised that all buttons worked. I played with it for several minutes more and it was cool. I didn't end up buying it though because the TV signal reception is pathetic.
