@ims and kikz so what really? i just reverted my iphone back to 3.1.2. anyway masisira ba iphone ko pag paiba iba ng firmware? kasi more like 10x na akong papalit palit hahahahha

mag uupgrade to os4.01 fw ang pamangkin ko ng 3gs nya na unlocked and jailbroked using yung naka upload sa 1st page.. is it still available and ok to jailbreak her phone after upgrading it? Thanks

you can only restore to 4.0.1 if you managed to save 4.0.1 SHSH thru cydia. to check open cydia and go to main page. Check if there is someting written like, "This device has SHSH file for 4.0.1"

If you have then do THIS and then shift+restore to 4.0.1

If you dont have 4.0.1 SHSH stay with your current firmware

I have "This device has SHSH file for 4.0.1" on my IP4.. can it be used or is it transferable to 3GS through Itunes? Sorry if its a noob question

there is still another option.

Check 3rd to 5th digit of the serial number. If its between 900 and 940, download a 4.0 CFW. Put device in recovery mode and then shift+restore to that CFW.

A warning though, pag nagkaproblem loading ng CFW at wala ka 3.1.3 SHSH, you will be forced to update to 4.0.2, there is no jailbreak and unlock for that.

SO its up to you to weigh the options

iOS 4.1 out now, check 1st page of this post. WARNING: If you rely on software unlocking tools DO not update to ios 4.1, wait for the official announcement from the dev team.
