REVISED MARKETPLACE GUIDELINES AS OF MARCH 18, 2009

The guidelines are drafted in conformity with the site principles:
1st Principle: Love thy iPhone and iPod Touch.
2nd Principle: Respect your peers.
3rd Principle: Obey the law.

I. In Posting:

1) Title (FS: Item Condition Quantity Price)
a. Begin with FS (For Sale), LF (Looking For), or FT (For Trade)
b. Then put the item name (e.g. iPhone, iPod Touch, Jolens <---joke)
c. Then put item condition (e.g. Sealed, Unlocked, 2nd Hand, Stolen <----joke again)
d. Then put the quantity you have on hand (optional: only if you have a limited quantity)
e. Then put the price you're asking. Indicate if negotiable (OPTIONAL)

2) Content of Post
a. Name of item
b. Asking Price, and indicate if negotiable
c. Number of Pieces available, if limited.
d. Short description of the item
e. Warranties, if any
f. Reason for selling
g. Contact Info
h. Delivery, meet-up, or shipping options
i. Picture of item.
i.i. Make sure you size your images properly. Maximum image width is 480
i.ii. Pictures are necessary for ALL items. No exceptions.
i.iii. Read this thread "How To Post in the Forums" if you don't know how to upload photos.
j. Serial Number of item

Moderators reserve the right to edit / delete posts that do not comply with the format and requirements stated above.

II. Specific Rules

1. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse.
All new members are expected to read the forum rules before posting, especially in the Marketplace. All new members should read the following threads, before doing anything else.

2. This site is for sharing information, not selling products.
Soliciting business is strictly prohibited, except in the MarketPlace section. This includes signatures, personal text, avatars, and the LiveChat. All violations may be summarily removed by the moderators. Repeated violators may be summarily banned by the administrators.

3. Minimum 25 Posts Requirement to Sell in the Marketplace.
Effective March 17, 2009, all members will need to have a minumum of 25 posts to post a new For Sale item in the Marketplace. New "For Sale" posts by members with "Out of the Box" status (0-25 posts) will be summarily deleted by the moderators. New "For Sale" posts require a membership rank of at least "iPhone Newbie" (25-100 posts). If your post disappears, it will probably mean because you have not complied with this rule. All members, old and new, are tasked with knowing this rule. If you don't know it, it means you didn't read the MarketPlace Guidelines.

Moderators will also monitor the forums for those who post just to comply with this 25 posts requirement. All posts which are deemed "post-padding " may be summarily deleted by the moderators.

Post-Padding include, but are not limited to, posts which simply state:

Up up.
Bump.

Nice.
Wow.

Moderators reserve their right to determine which posts constitute "post-padding".

4. Update the Status of Your Item Once a Week or When Sold
If your FS item is still available, you can update by replying to your thread:

"Still Available"

Or words similar to that. You can do this every 5-7 days. Once a week is recommended.
Again, posts like "up up" or "bump" are NOT ALLOWED.
These posts may be deleted and your item may be locked or archived by the moderators if you update your item using "up up" or "bump". Again, everyone is tasked with knowing this rule and ignorance will not be an excuse.

When you have sold your item, kindly reply to your thread with the word "SOLD" or similar words. This is to help the moderators know when to lock and move your post to the "Sold Items" Forum section. This will also help minimize waste and nuisances for everyone involved, both potential buyer and seller.

5. Prohibited Matters:
a) No highjacking of threads.
b) No bumping threads.
c) No "up up".
d) No "bump"
e) No illegal, offensive, or immoral things.
f) No solicitation for paid iPhone / iPod Touch related services.

6. Disclaimer and Other Matters
a) applei.ph shall not be responsible for any problems, issues, or conflicts that may arise between the buyer and the seller. applei.ph is merely providing a venue for the sale of the products and is in no way the seller nor an agent of the seller or buyer in this regard. applei.ph enourages potential buyers to check out the feedback of the seller first if there are any.
b) applei.ph prohibits unauthorized offers of services for iPhone / iPod Touch unlocking, repairs, upgrading in the Marketplace. The revenue from the services rendered by some team applei.ph members are what funds and maintains this site. team applei.ph is open to members interested in offering such services in unserved areas (check the Services Tab for a list of served areas). Interested members may send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
d) team applei.ph reserves the right to change, edit, add to, or modify these guidelines in the future.
d) team applei.ph reserves the right to edit, modify, or delete posts which violate any of the site principles and marketplace guidelines.
